Think about a time when someone challenged your opinion or told you that you were wrong. What was the disagreement about, and how did you defend yourself? Did you change their mind, or did they change yours?

Prompt Response: A time when someone challenged my opinion was when we were talking about going to school in-state vs. out-of-state. I would really like to go to college out-of-state, but most of my friends would rather go to school in-state and we were each showing our viewpoints. I would prefer going to school out-of-state because I want to explore other places and see what's out there outside of Georgia. Additionally, I want to become independent from my parents and I believe that a great way to do that would be by going out-of-state. However, my friend brought up the point that going to school in-state is less expensive and they prefer feeling closer to home. In the end, we reached a point where we both kind of changed our minds and we were more understanding of each other's viewpoints on the matter.

Summary: We copied down vocabulary into our notebooks and did exercises to practice using the words we learned.

Reflection: We learned fifteen new vocabulary words that we can use in our writing. It's important to expand one's vocabulary because it can allow one to use more accurate words in their writing and can allow one to express oneself better.
